Christine Lanois has found her happy place when it comes to the world of fitness.
After having to give up her childhood dreams of becoming a gymnast, Christine Lanois, 57, discovered the world of bodybuilding as an adult and is now competing as a Figure competitor. While she’s happy to have left her bodybuilding days behind her, she credits the sport with giving her the knowledge and discipline that’s made her the confident and highly motivated woman she is today.
Not that it’s been a pursuit she does without support. “My 19-year-old son has always been in my corner with any challenge I’ve faced. I have chosen my journey through life to include my passion for fitness, and I’ve become a great role model for my son. He motivates me and I motivate him.” And what does she do when she needs to give herself a bit of a push? “When the going gets tough, I tell myself to go to the gym! Training helps release stress and keeps me sane. Training does not work for me. It’s a passion from the heart and the best medicine for anyone,” says Christine.
As for the secret to her positive and dedicated approach to her health and fitness, Christine is driven: “Well, there is no secret or magic pill. I always pay myself first with a healthy lifestyle and have never stopped in over 45 years.”.
