Adapting to Change

Adapting to change and embracing challenges

Whether she’s building muscle or battling cancer, Dawn Marie Wignall is giving it her all.

Adapting to Change

A Lifelong Passion

I’ve been active in sports since I was very young. When I got pregnant at 21, I wanted to stay in shape. I worked out at home every day until I went to the hospital. It worked really well for me — I got in shape in no time after giving birth. I loved working out and I’d start my day by getting up early to work out before anyone else got up. I love challenging myself, and I work so much harder now than I did when I was younger.

An Evolving Lifestyle

My fitness and diet routine has changed over the years. I’ve always been lean, but I read a lot and followed different diets to increase muscle. My body responded quickly.Adapting to Change I’m so glad I learned all of this at a young age. Now, it amazes me how eating and working out keeps my body and skin looking good at my age. I’m happy with myself, and I still want to look my best at this time in my life.

Carrying On

I am now living with cancer, but my health routine has made that easier. You need to feed your body properly, and that shows on the inside and out. I nourish my body six times a day, and I drink water all day long. Without my diet, I’m sure I would not be able to manage all of my chemo medications, and I wouldn’t be fighting this as well as I do. You can do whatever you want in life if you put your mind to it. I believe that everything will fall into place if you stay positive.

Staying on Track

I’m very disciplined. When I set my mind on something, I stay on track. I don’t have any problems with dieting. I enjoy watching my body change and my muscles gain definition. Plus, I know that at the end of the diet I can reward myself. I have a high metabolism, so I know when l need to feed my body or to have a cheat day. I can’t say that I’ve ever lost my dedication to fitness. It’s the easy part of my life. Adapting to Change

Enjoying the Simple Things

To me, success is being true to myself, learning more about myself, and loving who I am. I enjoy the simple things in life, like going for a nice walk along the water. I enjoy the quiet. I also love to bake and cook. I make awesome, all-natural nutrition bars. To relax, I like to sit in a hot bubble bath with a good book and shut the world off. Nothing bothers me like it used to. Now, I focus on staying positive and enjoying my children and grandchildren. I’m a very lucky woman..
