Pitching a story

Send a brief outline of your idea, why it matters to our readers, your proposed sources and a short author biography. Disclose any commercial relationships connected to the story.

Writing and originality

Submit original work in clear, engaging language. Avoid stereotypes about aging, exaggerated promises and unsupported claims. Tell us if the work has appeared elsewhere or is under consideration with another publication.

Use headings and short paragraphs where they help readers. Prioritize clarity over rigid sentence lengths, word counts or SEO scores.

Sources and fact-checking

• Support factual claims with reliable, traceable sources. Prefer original research, official guidance and interviews with appropriately qualified experts.
• Provide direct links to the specific sources supporting your claims. Attach source notes or comments to the relevant passages in your submitted document.
• Verify names, quotations, dates and statistics before submitting.
• Paraphrase accurately and attribute ideas. Use quotation marks for direct quotations; do not copy passages without appropriate permission and attribution.

Health, fitness and nutrition

Articles offering medical or treatment advice require input from a suitably qualified expert and supporting evidence. Personal experiences must be clearly distinguished from general advice.

Avoid diagnosing readers, promising results or presenting supplements, diets or exercise routines as cures. Identify meaningful limitations in the evidence and disclose expert affiliations or commercial interests.

AI-assisted work

Disclose substantial use of generative AI in writing or imagery. Contributors remain responsible for originality, accuracy and source verification.

Never submit invented interviews, quotations, experts, references or personal experiences. AI-generated images must not be presented as documentary photographs.

Photography and other visuals

Supply images you own or have permission to publish, along with captions, photographer credits and any usage restrictions. Obtain any necessary permissions from identifiable subjects.

Clearly identify illustrations, composites and materially altered images. D’FYNE will not invent missing credits.

Commercial relationships

Disclose sponsorships, affiliate arrangements, gifts, hosted travel, complimentary products and other relevant relationships. Paid promotional content must be agreed with D’FYNE and clearly labelled.

Submission does not guarantee publication, backlinks or favourable coverage.

Editing, rights and payment

D’FYNE may edit submissions for clarity, length, accuracy and house style, and may decline work that does not meet its standards.

Payment, publication rights, exclusivity and image licensing must be agreed in writing before an assignment begins. Sending a pitch does not create a paid commission.

Corrections

Notify the editor promptly if you discover an error in submitted or published work. Provide the relevant passage, the correction and supporting evidence.
